SCOPE OF NOTICE:

Notice is given hereby, that the Owner, Exeter Milligan Public Schools (EMPS), invites General Contractors to bid on the renovation of the:

EXETER MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS – RENOVATION PROJECT AT:

318 S. RIVER AVE., EXETER, NE, NEBRASKA 68351

 

BIDS:

Sealed proposals will be received by the Exter Milligan Public School, at the Superintendent’s Office, 318 S. River Ave, Exeter, NE, 68351 up to the hour of:

2:00 PM, LOCAL TIME, ON THURSDAY, THE 30TH OF JANUARY, 2025

 

For the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services as required in the bidding documents for the Project, prepared by the coordinating professional: Architectural Design Associates, P.C., Lincoln, Nebraska. Bids shall be addressed to the attention of Paul Sheffield, Superintendent of Schools at Exeter Milligan Public Schools, 318 S. River Ave, Exeter, NE, 68351.  Bid security will be required for this bid.

At the above stated hour and place, the Owner will publicly open and read aloud the bids received. bids received after that time will not be accepted.

 

BID SUBMISSION METHOD:

Bid submission method shall be by paper.

 

SCOPE OF NOTICE:

The work involves all construction indicated on the drawings and specifications, included but not limited to the following: The scope of work will include the renovation of approximately 9,500 sq ft of the existing Exeter Milligan Public School, in an existing gym, the existing music room, the existing fitness room and the existing shop building.  The renovated areas will include classrooms, library, restrooms, fitness room and corridors.  Specific construction activities will include: Concrete slabs on grade, masonry patching, metal studs, VCT, carpeting, gyp board, tile, acoustical ceilings, paint, hollow metal frames, wood doors, aluminum entrance framing, HVAC, plumbing, power and lighting systems as indicated in the construction documents.

 

BIDDING:

Drawings and Specifications:

On January 2, 2025, bidding documents may be obtained by contacting A&D Technical Supply Co.,  www.adtechplans.com; 1822 "N" Street, Lincoln, NE 68508, phone 402 474-5454, fax 402 474-5779 and upon receipt of a $100.00 total deposit for drawing and spec book, with checks made payable to the Exeter Milligan Public Schools.  Deposits will be refunded if all documents are returned to A&D Technical Supply Co. in good condition, post-paid within 14 calendar days after the date of the bid opening.

If a bidder requests a set to be mailed, they shall include with their request a $100.00 per set deposit. a separate, non-refundable check made out to A&D Technical Supply for an additional $30.00 per set to cover postage and handling. Deposits will be refunded if all documents are returned in good condition within 14 calendar days after the date of the bid opening. Plans are also available for viewing at Builders Bureaus listed below. A list of bidders may be examined on the internet at www.adtechsupply.com.

No partial sets will be issued.

Digital documents are available through A&D Technical Supply Co. upon Owner approval.

ALL WORK SHALL BE FURNISHED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PREPARED BY THE OFFICES OF THE ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS.

BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED ONLY UPON THE PRINTED PROPOSAL FORMS FURNISHED WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS.

 

SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION:

The project is to be substantially complete as indicated in the ‘Instructions to Bidders’.

 

SITE INSPECTION

 

PRE-BID CONFERENCE

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site, EXETER MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS AT 318 S. RIVER AVE., EXETER, NE.

                       AT 3:00 PM, Wednesday, JANUARY 15, 2025.

Enter at the main west office entrance.  Attendance and sign-in registration by all interested General Contractors is recommended.  

 

BONDS

Each bid proposal must be accompanied by Bid Bond payable to Exeter Milligan Public Schools in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid proposal submitted as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required. If bid security is not received with the proposal, the bid will not be considered.

The successful bidder to whom a contract is to be awarded shall provide a "Performance Bond" and "Labor and Materials Payment Bond," a double form of bond issued as a standard form of the American Institute of Architects. Bond shall be in the total amount of the contract.

 

TAXES

The Owner will issue to the successful bidder a state sales tax exemption certificate and purchasing agent appointment for materials used on this project. DO NOT INCLUDE STATE SALES TAX IN YOUR BID.

 

INSURANCE

Prior to the start of work, completed copies of the CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, AIA DOCUMENT G705, shall be submitted to the Owner. See section supplementary general conditions.

 

AWARD OF CONTRACT

the Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids.

no bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the scheduled closing time to receive bids.
